Description:
We hiked the morning after a major storm that apparently hit Sacaton Mesa pretty hard. Sacaton Road is a mess! Washout after washout! Passable, but strictly high clearance 4WD. Instead take Moon Ranch to Sacaton and then west to Little Dry Creek Road.

There is a big tree across the trail about .5 miles in. At about 1.5 miles, there began to be quite a few downed trees, and we lost the trail several times. That said, the last mile was still in much better shape than last time we hiked this trail. Despite a bit of scrambling, we were delighted with this hike, for the summer wildflowers, the lush riparian environment, stunning close-in views of West Baldy, crazy rock formations, a profusion of summer wildflowers, a somewhat intact old cabin, and a spooky cliffside mine
