Description:
Rode in to the Castle Pass trail intersection Sept.1. Trail is getting enough traffic to have the perfect singletrack trail bed, have never seen it that good. With the high temps it was getting dusty by day end on the ride out.
There are three trees down with bypasses. We did some clearing & brushing with hand saws along the trail to intersection.
There are quite a few over hanging trees that will be coming down soon, likely in the next wind storm so I suggest carrying a good hand saw to get through.
If you need water, streams are dry, other than the 5th/stream prior to the intersection has good flow. The one beside the Castle Pass trail intersection is just a trickle.
Warning that since deer hunting season started Sept. 1, the one hiker we saw reported that a hunter fired close to the trail, parking lot & him. Wear bright colours & call out to alert hunters in addition to the usual bear warning.
