Oct 18, 2025 Heckletooth Trail Report

Be careful- people with a gun nearly killed us. My partner and I rode Heckletooth on Oct 18, 2025 in the afternoon (3:05 pm) and were at the summit when bullets literally flew by our heads. Someone with a gun was shooting at the summit, we couldn’t see them but hit the ground and started screaming. The bullets were within feet of us, we heard them and saw them hitting the trees. As soon as there was a break in the shooting we grabbed our bikes and got on the other side of the hill. Very scary. We reported it to the police/sheriff and also called the Willamette Ranger station (which is currently closed fyi).
