Description:
Going to take a different stance than the previous report, and call this trail as running just fine. The part that is 'overgrown' and 'needs maintenance', is the part clearly shown in red for having been closed two years ago. Now what does need work, in my opinion, is back-filling the eroded roots along the section of trail formerly known as rim job, and a ladder over the janky drainage crossing in there. I won't take action if even one person still wants those roots in play. But if there's a unanimous consensus, i'll patch it all up over the next few months.

I agree Catalyst is running well...Those roots are key challenge of that zone. Please leave those...but there is few spots that could be zipped up for sure.
I dont want to advertise but we could fix up that red marked zone that was leading to iconic wet switchbacks. after you climb that we could connect it to ooold IG to return you back down to beaver. Worth the work to keep this area in the mix.

Got it. and it's as i suspected! these trails don't start out that way, but they evolve over time, the riding skill improves in lockstep, and then the status quo comes to be preferred.

Agreed, i've long thought IG could be restored, and perhaps in an even more interesting way than before. but i have done now three new lines in the area associated with this construction, so i think i'm done. still, i'm sure IG will get its day again, perhaps associated with the rebuilding after construction is complete.
