Description:
We had the aim of driving to the top but were cut short by snow at about 1.6km from the tower. We decided to walk the rest with our bikes and reached the tower quite easily with the snow cover being patchy. At the tower we found the trail to be mostly covered in snow with a few patches of ground showing through. However, we saw tyre tread marks in the uncovered dirt so decided to have a scout down on foot to see how far we could get. We decided to take our bikes down through the snow as we thought, with gps, we could make it to the snowline without losing the trail. It took us nearly two hours but we made it to the snowline without losing the trail. We made it 3.5km down the trail before the snow stopped and left the trail consistently rideable. After that it was great! A few fallen trees and one of the bridges over the river was broken but all doable!
