Description:
Recent monsoon storms have washed a lot of the hard-packed dirt away and you're left with really loose gravel. Makes it hard to do the climb up the trail. Going down Shaw Butte is always tricky, and with the loose gravel and ruts from the runoff, it's a pretty technical downhill, especially with the folks who hike the trail.

Loose gravel, rocks, boulders...tons of hikers. I walked a majority of it. view
