Oct 15, 2016 Sage Canyon Trail Report

No bikes are allowed on this trail system. I unfortunately found this out after pedaling here and through a neighborhood from the San Elijo beach / campground. I entered the preserve through a neighborhood gate where everything else was marked as not allowed - motorcycles, drones, fires etc. no sign for no bicycles here so I entered and rode every trail. All were very dusty / dry. Almost like riding on a beach. Got to the top of the powerlines trail and saw a no bicycles sign. Ride down to the Manchester street entrance for my last ride and saw another no bicycles sign. The Manchester Preserve is managed and owned by a private group so I'm unsure what the penalty is for riding aside from getting the stink eye from hikers like I did despite right of way given etc but I would recommend that trail forks takes this area off their list of view trails.
