This is a fun flowy trail with a good amount of jumo features throughout. It's not as fast of a trail compared to others in the area, but it's a nice long trail. It ends near the reservoir which is worth riding down to. The worst part of this trail is climbing out on the road, the best part is that it can easily be shuttled.

2x coming to Hoot. Trail was in good shape considering we are still in “winter”. I didn’t come across a ton of ruts as with some other trails I’ve ridden lately. Will def come back and bring my girl so she can be kind enough to shuttle me back up for another lap. Lol.

Scott’s was in great shape. Tons of features on this trail. Running smooth with barley any ruts. Would def come back, though the ride back out to the car wasn’t too fun. If possible, ride with a few folks and have a someone park and the bottom and shuttle back to the top and switch who rides and shuttles. Orrr ride out and talk to yourself about how you hate climbing all the way back to the car. Lol.

Such a fun and flowy downhill trail. This trail should not be ridden uphill. It’s a narrow single track and if you ride uphill you are a flow killer for those trying to enjoy this trail. Take the road up (it’s faster anyways), and the dirt down.

Riding this uphill, or at least expecting downhill traffic to yield to you if you do, is both stupid and inconsiderate, if not dangerous. There are no technical features going up, and you'll hear/see someone coming down long before they see you. Enjoy your ride, but try not to ruin if for others doing the same.

What a HOOT. Like the little fiery sibling of Scott's Flat. Reminds me of Flow Trail in the Soquel Demonstration Forest. Definitely send this if you are in the area.

Crazy awesome trail full of giant berms and pumps that can be doubled. Got a fun gap to stump jump double. Reminds me of a mini Flow Trail a La Soquel Demonstration Forest of Santa Cruz. A must hit if you are in the area.

Dear me! What a trail. Solidly built. Crazy flow. I need more speed next time to clear a good few features. I came back up Casci road. Quite a slog for a middle aged fat guy. I wouldn't want to pedal back up Scott's flat trail and get in the way of someone flying down, having the time of their lives, as i pounded out the cranks round those berms!
Is there another way up apart from Scott's flat road?

Anyone know how much rain/snow hoot trail got this week? Thinking about a thanksgiving ride if it did not get too much precip or under snow.

This trail is one of my favorites anywhere, since being rebuilt this winter. The features that make this trail so much fun also require a lot of speed and some air time though. As a result, there are some places where a downhill rider will not be able to stop in time for an uphill rider. Please, if you're going to ride it uphill, be especially careful to listen/look for riders coming down, and try to get completely off the trail if possible. I know this goes against the old rule of the downhill rider yielding, but that may just not be physically possible on this one.

Fun trail with well developed berms.
The signage on the trails in the area is very poor. Post will indicate there is a trail but no trail names or ratings.

The first big switchback is sketchy with the dusty dry conditions right now. The trail is banked before leading into the turn and with the dust on top of the hard pack dirt it's very easy to slide out before you even enter the burm
