Trail Homestead
Beginner/intermediate perspective. Rate it 4/5. Fast flow trail with rock features similar to Charlie's Cutoff. Moderate climb right after the creek crossing. The famous loose gravel of Buffalo Creek makes an appearance to only slightly dampen the experience.

Beginner/intermediate perspective. Rate it 4/5. Fast flow with nice small rock features and rolls only interrupted by an easy climb in the middle of the trail.

Beginner/intermediate perspective. I rate it 4/5. Fast, flowy descent with some cool rock rolls and features. Lots of loose gravel ready to ruin your day; a staple of Buffalo Creek. Small climb towards the end followed by the steepest grade of the trail. There's a drainage issue towards the end of the trail (V-shaped section) that would make it very easy to slide out if ridden wrong.

Beginner/intermediate perspective. I rate it 4/5. Fun and fast descent down towards a creek with a punchy climb immediately after crossing the creek.

Trail Buck Gulch
Beginner/intermediate perspective. Pretty steep, sustained-ish climb once you get to the first switchback. The grade eases up once you get closer to the top. Smooth climbing trail.

I do not know why but they have cleared cut all of the trees on second half of the trail. The trail is completely exposed and will be washed away after the first big rain. Used to be a fun trail but no more. I would like to know why.

If you ride this, 99% of people are descending Charlie's so I'd be climbing back up Miller instead.

Trail Black Jack
This trail is nuts. If you like steep slabs, drops into slabs, difficult moves, and generally steep tech, this is it. Some of the descriptions claim there are alt lines, but I would say generally they're all pretty tough and even solid intermediates will be walking most.

Some tech and some steep parts make this climb difficult, especially if you are adding this trail at the end of a bigger Buffalo Creek loop. However, this is the price of admission for getting to the Black Jack trail. If you struggle on the first couple of features on Raspberry Ridge, you will have a really hard time riding Black Jack.

The top/southern section of this trail (beginning as in TF) is labeled as Homestead according to the trail signs. If the topo says gashouse that’s even more confusing. I think homestead is correct. But certainly not Strawberry Jack that trail ends at the intersection with Skipper.

This trail is a "free-riders" dream. Full of natural tech features, most of which are signed and named. Many of which also have easier/ harder option lines.

FYI, per USFS info and topo maps, the southernmost 0.9 miles of this trail listing is incorrectly named. This part is still the northernmost section of the Gashouse Gulch Trail. I think even this isn't actually correctly named on the signs there; the signs just say ""Gashouse".
As of May 2020, some trail signs also don't even conform to THIS trail info here, so we are working on making all this consistent.

Trail Black Jack
There is currently a tree down at the top of the "long shot" slab line. It's easily rollable but makes an already steep and technical slab even that more technical.

Some rocks are now in front of that down tree, making it an easier roll over.

This climb is great. Technical enough to push your skills but not enough to beat you down or force you to clunk, bang, and walk your way through.

Trail Homestead
Fun trail with Little Rock features to roll over. Some areas of deep sandy pea gravel to wipe out on. Goes from forest to a burn area.
