Hahah so many mix reviews. I absolutely love this trail, from the comments it make it sound like it was going to be horrible and loose baby heads the whole way down. Maybe people have not ridden many mtn bike trails and only smooth flow trails but this is what I call a standard Mtn bike trail if you have rocks in your area. A nice balance of rocks and some fast flow sections. The addition of ON THE ROCKS was worth it at the top. Climbing up the fire road is a grind, there area a couple hike a bike sections just too steep and loose, pretty much no shade whole ride. Posted a video of it under the video tab.

I also consider myself a decent rider being able to do black trails with no problems. THIS trail is the worst. Super rocky and it just keeps going. No fun up and a chore going down. I also don’t suggest trying powerline road to get up there! If they made a better travel up to this area, then I think On the Rocks would actually be a joy after Ginny trail.

This descent is a blast and has it all. Skinnys, slabs, rock tech, jank, fast sections & loose bits. Legit black trail. Bike handling skills highly recommended. If you don't have the skills you will not enjoy this trail.

Grueling ascent, but worthwhile for the ride down. Intermediate or cautious riders are likely to hate this trail, but it’s a shredder’s paradise. Our group rode for 3 hours and didn’t see another soul. Ample opportunities for uninterrupted fast descending.

This trail is awesome! Fast tech where you kinda have to find the flow with some jank mixed in. Definitely worth the climb. You probably need a higher skill level to really enjoy it, but totally rideable for most people. One of the best trails around here.

This is absolutely the worst trail near Fort Collins. It may be the worst trail I’ve had the (dis)pleasure of riding.

This climb sucks. Loose, steep, and filled with baby heads.

There is some flow to be had on this trail but you need to be confident riding fast over loose baby heads and through technical jagged rock. The recent addition of the On The Rocks trail in this area makes this trail and the area as a whole slightly more worth doing.

This should be a great trail, not blue. It’s a nice singletrack along the double wide walking path. Smooth, no rocks or elevation

Why don’t they just make an uphill only singletrack trail? This road is ridiculously steep and also loose in some spots.

I rode this as an out and back. The climb is tough but does offer some great views. What I thought made it tough was the pretty consistent climbing grade along with lots of loose golf ball size rocks, and a constant barrage of tight steep rock features that are sharp on pretty narrow single track. Everything is ridable for an advance skill level rider both up and down. Intermediate level riders will have a fair amount of dismounts on both ups and downs. I didn’t find this trail to have that fun techy kind of flow to it, but it was a fun challenging ride when you try to clean all the obstacles. The downhill went much faster than I would have though when I was coming up. I rode everything going down except two very technical turns on my first ride at this park. I think I can ride both of them but didn’t want to push it too much. I think your speed has a lot to do with getting flow here so if you like steep, fast rowdy descents you might just like this one.

I found this trail difficult and I consider myself a decent rider. I didnt find this trail to be all that enjoyable.
