Route rides best clockwise, starting at the Bruno campground area. Counterclockwise requires some longer and steeper climbing on Kirby Gulch and Trail 600. COMBA has completed trail work in this area recently to improve the riding experience. Gently climb Bruno Gulch trail along the creek and through the trees to to the intersection and turn right on the South Park Trail (Trail 600). The climbing gets steeper and technical over rocks. Continue on a COMBA trail reroute and enjoy a few climbing switchbacks that lessen the grade towards the top. High altitude climbing for sure, but enjoy the downhill now. The trail tips downhill through the trees and through a few wet seep areas before reaching a stream crossing, there is no bridge so pick your line and ride or walk across to the other side. Continue downhill following the creek on a fast chunky trail to the next intersection and turn right following the Kirby Gulch trail. Continue contouring downhill to the Bruno/Kirby connector...more gentle downhill through the meadow and back to the Bruno campground.
