This loop is easier to ride clockwise, up the road and down the trail and I will describe it in that direction.
The old road section is easier and a gravel bike would be a fine choice to ride up (and down) this section. The trail part of this loop is more difficult. There is no bridge at the creek crossings but you can usually find downfall to walk across.
There is a bridge option at the bottom of the trail. To find that bridge you will need to take a left down the trail just before the creek. Go through the horse camp (Please as for permission if the camp is occupied) and you will find the bridge on the far side.
You can add a lot of miles to this route by riding to and from on the Mosquito Creek dirt roads.
