Going Clockwise will give you a nice downhill at the end of the loop.
Three steep and scenic 4x4 roads with a challenging section that is part of the Continental Divide Mountain Bike Race. The first section goes down, down, down. There is a small lake on the left partway down that may deserve a detour. The next section goes up about the same steepness and distance as you just came down until meeting the intersection with Lava. The Start of Lava Mountain Trail is steep and rocky with some nice technical rock garden riding. Shortly after is a headwall of rocks and small boulders that is too steep and rocky to be ridden. Once past the headwall, the top is near and the ride down to the start is the cherry on top.
