Overview: Just short of two miles with less than 200 feet of elevation gain, this route offers a nice outing on a mostly flat, smooth surface A perfect route for all ages and abilities with just enough rolling hills to get the heart pumping.
Getting Started: The Logging Museum Loop can be readily accessed from the paved Logging Museum parking lot.
The Loop:
• The trail is a mix of paved ADA trail, gravel road, and dirt trail.
• The trail drains well and remains in good condition year-round, but be prepared for snow in the winter.
• Enjoyable spring through fall with dogwoods showcasing spring flowers and fall colors.
• Most of the route travels under a dense forest canopy and makes for an enjoyable outing even on the hottest of summer days.
• Benches are available for resting about halfway through the loop.
Cautions:
• No potable water is available along the route.
• Cell reception may not be reliable.
• Download a map to your phone for offline use before you go.
• Equestrians are not allowed on this route.
Highlights:
White Pines Lake Park offers an opportunity to relax after your trail outing: go for a swim, wade along the beach, or enjoy a picnic.
