This route is designed for riders that are new to the area and want to explore the whole trail network. The loop starts at a popular parking area that greets the rider with a big information board and map. From here the rider can compare their navigation device to the maps that are regularly located around the system and gain familiarity with the network.
The loop can be ridden in either direction; clockwise is shown here. It can be modified to reduce or increase the mileage depending on the desire of the cyclist. Riders should feel free to explore any of the spurs, short-cuts, loops and cross-connects that interest them along the way.
This is a cross-country (XC) style route so one should expect to pedal uphill half of the total mileage of the course.
Strongly encouraged to bring plenty of water as the high elevation and normally very dry conditions will make a rider thirsty quickly. Bring a snack and a camera - the views are great.
This area is popular with cyclists, walkers, joggers and families. Bike bell encouraged.
Edit NOTE: This route has been updated to account for the recent shift of Elementary Trail's northern end from the School Loop intersection to the new termination at Baldwin Loop and Pat's Connector.
