This trail is a fun singletrack path in the Maple Hill trail system and adjacent to the popular School Loop trail. Named after Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin of Rancho Santa Anita fame, who bought the nearby Gold Mountain Mine that was renamed for him in 1876, the Baldwin Loop trail is an XC style course that is mostly mellow with a few punchy climbs and descents. The trail mostly follows the contour of a series of ridges and makes great use of the natural terrain. Two connecting trails allow a rider to make a shorter loop of the trail and three connectors allow access to the larger network available in the trail system. The trail can be ridden in either direction. It is frequented by runners, families, dog walkers and cyclists.
