This is the longest of the five loops at Heritage Park. It has nearly everything to offer in one continuous ride. There are a few difficult areas with large log roll-overs, several without ride-arounds. Boardwalks and skinnies will keep you out of the swampy stuff as you pedal.
On the other side of the Disc Golf Course, the Orange Loop - Bidirectional Section splits off the main loop to connect the parking area by the basketball courts (like the name implies, that's a two-way section).

Trail Orange Loop
Orange loop distance is 8.8 miles according to the trailhead (see picture). It incorporates the other loops into it to make one large trail. It’s definitely more of a hiking trail with all of the switchbacks and mellow descents. Big Bertha is a sand washout that does get you going pretty quick, but it’s pretty similar to a sandy northern Michigan 2 track.
Extremely pretty scenery and a fairly fun trail that has lots of short punchy climbs. Most of the turns are off camber and the single track gets pretty tight in some places. The meat of the trail is bench cut into a ridge, which is the reason for the off camber turns and switchbacks.
