This ride can start in the lower parking lot or the one about a half mile (or less) up schultz pass rd.
I saw people ride it in both directions, but I would recommend the clockwise direction so as not to be going against riders blasting down Schultz Creek trail.
I would say experienced beginners could ride it, but not a beginner just learning to ride a bike.
Half of it is uphill, so you do need some cardio, and some of schultz creek trail is on the side of a hill, so you need to be comfortable with that.
I rode this loop 8/23/20 and I thought it was a fun ride.

Detailed Description
Schultz Pass Loop is a 12 mile moderately popular intermediate route located near Flagstaff Arizona. This mountain bike only route can be used both directions and has a moderate overall physical rating. This route includes 15 trails. This route climbs 1,043 ft with a max elevation of 8,109 ft then descends -1,043 ft.
