hike What a great trail, we hiked it clockwise and had a great time. Not overcrowded and a shout out to the trail maintenance crew for blowing off the trail. A couple of blow downs, otherwise clear. We are bikers and I would also like to ride this trail counterclockwise sometime, fast & flowy with no real technical features other than maybe one stream crossing. Idealview

trail in good shape one tree down across trail, easily climbed over. a few wet spots on trail along creek. Idealview

Rode counterclockwise on Specalized Rockhopper 29’ (hard tail). Trail was in great condition. A few sections of walking the bike based on trail being some combination of narrow/steep/rooted or rocky, but enjoyed the experience. Idealview

Updated closure due to ongoing rehabilitation efforts associated with the Flat Creek Fire: Stanley Gap Trail (165) is closed east of the intersection with the Benton Mackaye Trail. Flat Creek Loop Trail (165B) and Connector (165A) is also closed. The Benton Mackaye Trail is open.
