Not sure who or why but the beginning of this trail that has existed for a very long time has been rerouted. The gps track posted here represents the "new" beginning. As is with all the trails here they are minimally built with a very wild natural feel. Unfortunately this "new" beginning is somewhat hard to follow as it is not getting a lot of use and with all the rain has just grown back in. Many "locals" are still using the original line but with the now shared use with the new beginning it is growing in quite a bit as well. Wish whom ever changed it would have just left it as is so it gets the traffic to keep it worn in...

The 007 trail (either original or new beginning) is a great grunt to get you warmed up and approximately to mid mountain. If you are short on time you have some great decent options from here. 5 Lakes has a few punchy climbs even on the down but is super fun, or run back along GEOM to tie into Groovy Bob for a quick blast. Even better go up a little further on GEOM and take LJ then short run north on PIA to get back on GEOM to Groovy Bob... so many fun options

Don’t bother trying to ride this (unless maybe you are with a local). It was so front after a few hundred meters we turned around and climbed up 5 lakes instead.
