Bald Eagle Trail skirts the shores of Lake Higgins, providing beautiful scenery for hiking and mountain biking. This moderate hike offers opportunities to view unique waterfowl and possibly a bald eagle, the trail’s namesake. It is considered a semi-technical mountain bike ride by the trail sponsor, Greensboro Fat Tire Society, with its rooty sections and hairpin turns. The 1.3-mile loop on the western side of Lewiston Road is an added bonus.
