The Bear Woods Loop rides easier counterclockwise with better flow. Clockwise it feels like a climbing trail, but obviously being a loop that can't be true. There are a few roots, rocks, giant ant hills, and the occasional horse. Ride time is about 12-14 minutes. The trail starts at the loop trail (road) and Rim trail merge. Follow a short distance and it merges back to the road for a short disance and is part of Rim trail. There is a well marked junction where Bear turns left and Rim goes straight. From here the trail loops back to where it started with a fun descent followed by 2 small creek crossings, punchy climbs and usually some mud roots and rocks. It comes back to Loop road which and back up to the start.
