Bennett Mountain is BC's crown jewel — a rocky, technical out-and-back (being redesigned as a loop) that earns its reputation as the hardest trail in the system. The climb is relentless and unforgiving, with exposed Piedmont rock, rooty sections, and sustained steep grades that will test even fit riders. The descent rewards commitment: multiple optional lines branch off the main track, offering rock rides, ladder bridges, and drops ranging from intermediate to advanced. The trail winds through mature hardwood forest on its namesake "mountain" and away from the neighborhood, giving it a wilder, more remote feel than the rest of the BC system. Best suited for experienced riders comfortable with technical features and no mandatory bail options; beginners should stay on the BC Main Loop or bypass this using BC Nature Trail. Connects to the Herndon Loop and BC Nature Trail on the east side and the BC Main Loop and BC Nature Trail near the long wooden bridge on the west side.
