This trail remains closed to motorized travel yearlong, and is blocked by a locked gate. The only exception is during big game season for game retrieval between 11am and 3pm.

The lower half of the trail is steep with sand and rock slabs. The upper half is dirt/sand and not quite as steep.

One of the lesser used trails in Pipestone, it ends close to the top of a steep rocky gully. On foot it is possible to scramble down to the river, and up the other side to join BLM 20, however there is no trail and it is not an easy undertaking.

      I carried my mountain bike down from BLM 20 up to BLM 24A. I don't recommend it. At times I had to lower my bike down rock slabs by holding on to one wheel, and the sticks and vegetation getting caught on the bike drove me crazy. Anyway, if you're feeling like a little masochistic adventure have at it, otherwise I already did it for you.
