3 mile trail that climbs up to the summit of Bolt Mountain. Trail gets rockier as you go higher. It is rated black because of the rocky sections. Beautiful local views from the top. Trail is under partial shade for most of the way. Trail surface can be muddy in the wintertime but is generally usable year round. Mandatory water crossing near the bottom is rideable most of the time.

Hadn’t ridden these trails for many years but I have done it 3 times in the last week. I must say it is more fun to start at Fish Hatchery Park and end at Elk lane than it is the other way around but a great time either way. Fun and techy climb and lots of short but fun downhill. I am a bit rusty so I did have to take my foot off the pedal a couple times on the climb the first two times but made a clean run to the top Of Bolt today???????? Which felt pretty awesome.!

Compared to the sidewalks of Cathedral, it is a five star ride. Just too short in my opinion and it’s hot in summer but the river to cool off with at the bottom is nice.

Very challenging but so so worth it. Lots of hike a bike for me on the way up, epic view on top and a fun descent. Some pretty rocky sections and one downed tree.
