Brain Wave offers one of the best flat flow sections in BDOS and one of the more technical intermediate trails in the area. Brain Wave is easily distinguished into two very different sections. The first, from Spooky to Grassy is fast, fun and flowy, and easily just a green. After Grassy and all the way to the Sasquatch is a much more technical trail, which is what earns Brain Wave its intermediate status. While the tech isn't anything special, compared to the mellower XC trails offered here, it's something to challenge progressing riders. The trail is most technical on the north side of the Powerline Road near Sasquatch Extension. If you are a beginner, or simply want to avoid the tech of the second half simply turn right on Grassy Road at the intersection and then either continue to the Powerline Road, or turn right on Grassy, which will take you right back to Spooky.

This trail shoulbe divided into two, as the two ends are very different from each other and would appeal to different riders. As the description and first comment point out the section adjacent to Spooky is a gentle dream for novices. This is perhaps the least rocky patch of ground at BDOS. Meanwhile, the section adjacent to the power lines and Brain Bucket is a short but violent scream through rock piles and challenging roots. There is no reason those two should share a name and a rating. The Spooky side could maybe be combined with grassy to make a nice green trail— easy for beginners to discover.

If there's any beginners out there, this trail is easily a Green Circle from the intersection with Grassy to the intersection with Spooky.
