mtb Fine counterclockwise climb up the afternoon side of the clock, great mix of dirt and small limestone bits with a couple fixed rock sections. The climb is relentless, shady and fun, steep in spots pushing the AT button with timely recovery sections all the way up. I would not ride this trail as a loop unto itself. The morning side when ridden counterclockwise is a very steep 12 to 30%. It's a hand cramping brakefest with a big side of steep minimal grade reversal switchbacking thrown in. This trail is best used as a quick up to High Roller and Twisted Pines trails. A rare combo of less up and more down when you combine them all with a gentle 2 mile climb up Steptoe Creek Trail through a sagebrush forest back to Cave Lake and Lakeview Campground. Dryview
