mtb Saw 2 horses on Pale Rider. They ignored me. Today the trails are dry and good to ride. There's a lot of loose gravel and lots of small soose rocks. It's not a fast trail system. Pale Rider seems to be the most challenging. Dryview

mtb Dry, alot of loose gravel and rocks on single track. Limited mustang in the area, they have moved up the mountainside apparently. Smile Very Dryview

mtb 6 or more Mustang herds in the area. It is breeding season and the stallions are fighting and stampeding the herds continuously. It makes for a spectacular site, but we felt endangered several times on the upper loop and could not stay on the bike trail, had to go cross-country to avoid. Stay safe! These are large animals and very distracted right now. The horses are not afraid of people, dogs or cars and do not move off of the trail most of the time. I will never forget 2 stallions rearing and galloping right by us and circling around with mares and foals on the other side of us on the Z section. There were over 50 horses in that ravine alone and we didn't see what was happening until we dropped down into the middle of 3 herds. Beautiful, but scary! Wink Dryview

mtb Tip: For older or beginner riders, drive up to Linehan Road in Moundhouse (Hwy 50 E first left out of Carson after railroad bridge) turn left on Linehan and then park on the left (we park a couple hundred yards up where a dirt road crosses the train tracks and meets Linehan Rd.) Ride up the dirt road heading west, across train tracks until you see the single track near the base of the hills (Part of the Moundhouse Loop). We turn right on the single track and follow it down along train tracks. This trail will take you up and over the hills to the west eventually and let you avoid the super rocky (and dangerous) entrance road at Centennial Park. Trail system is fantastic for advanced beginner on up. Have fun exploring and enjoy the 3 different wild horse herds in the area. We call this the Wild Horse Trail! Our typical loop is around 5 miles, lots of different singletrack to choose from although its easy to mistake the mustang trails for the singletrack at times! We avoid the super rocky lower Centennial Loop trail system this way. Dryview

mtb Narrow single track that piggybacks onto dirt roads. Fairly rocky on some parts. Watch out for horse apples. Overall great short ride with full suspension. Dryview
