As part of the 2024 Boulder Valley Ranch Resign project, Cobalt has been opened to bikes The Boulder Mountainbike Alliance assisted the City of Boulder to reroute and optimize the trail for bike and adaptive bike use.

While this trail is bi-directional, it was built with the intent to be climbing optimized and looped with the downhill optimized Eagle trail.
