Copper John is a wide flow trail that has big park features that have butter smooth lips. Although black features are prominent, the build was done with intermediate riders in mind. There is no mandatory air, and ride-arounds exist on most of the features. This is a great trail for all downhill riders that are looking to progress their skills; from those just starting to get their tires off the ground to stunt-loving experts.
This trail was named after the Copper John flyfishing fly. The fly is relatively quick sinking and the fast sink rate of the fly is one of the main factors to its success. The colour of the massive dirt jumps of the trail resembles the appearance of the Copper John's sleek body. This trail is fast and fun and just like the fly is designed to descend at a fast sink rate!!
Copper John can be accessed from Morfee Mountain Road by the 1 km up-track or from the top of the mountain via the Royal Coachman and Woolly Bugger.
