This trail is a great downhill singletrack to create a fun loop from the Hay Park Trail. The trail starts fast and flowy through aspen trees. At the first flat meadow, the trail faintly heads 90 degrees to the right back into aspen forest (do not follow the cow path straight ahead). Here the trail enters an old growth aspen forest and heads steeply down toward West Sopris Creek. Near the creek bottom, take a hard left and start a gentle climb through aspen groves and blankets of lupine, columbine, and ferns. This short climb tops out on a small ridge, and then heads downhill into yet another mature aspen grove thick with lush vegetation. Continue downhill through a small open meadow and then keep an eye out for Dinkle Lake through the trees on your right. The trail ends at Dinkle Lake Road, where you can take a left and climb the short section of road back to the Thomas Lakes Trailhead.
