Most of this trail is pretty smooth and easy, but there is some challenging rocky areas, and some exposure when it gets close to the river (everything is easy to walk around). There's some climbs along the way but nothing too bad, until the last one before the trail junction, that one is pretty steep, and long enough to really get the heart pumping. Heading back east towards the trailhead has some stretches of fun flow, especially the last bit right before the end.
