After riding along the isthmus to El Chencho, climb while skirting the edge of a cliff with the Sea of Cortez below. Stop to take in the views and beautiful blue water, otherwise loose concentration and risk a fall on the rocks below.
The higher section added in 2024 taking you to the very peak of the mountain with 360 degree views of Guaymas, San Carlos and Sea of Cortez.
Rowdy and rough downhill follows that can sometimes wash out in heavy rains, at the bottom rejoin the trail and head back across the isthmus and hang a right to Vereda Pescador or straight to rejoin the double track back.
