Flowmentum is a fast, progressive downhill flow trail built by Terra Tek Trails and added to the Lake Hickory gravity network in 2019. At roughly 1,800 feet, it is short enough for repeated laps but packs substantial speed and feature variety into the descent.
The trail has a smooth, purpose-built natural-surface tread and a consistently descending profile. Unlike a conventional cross-country trail, Flowmentum is designed around maintaining momentum from top to bottom, with very little pedaling required once the descent begins.
Its defining features are large, deep berms, rollers, jumps and tabletops, with the jumps generally designed to be rollable. The emphasis is on linking the features together and carrying speed rather than tackling large gaps or highly technical obstacles. The berms provide substantial banking for high-speed cornering and give the trail a strong rhythm.
Flowmentum is particularly well suited to intermediate riders progressing into downhill riding. Riders can keep the wheels on the ground while learning the lines, then gradually increase speed and begin using the jumps as confidence and skill develop. More experienced riders can push the berms and carry considerably more speed.
The trail is downhill-only, with Elevator providing the dedicated uphill return for repeated gravity laps.
Overall: Flowmentum is a compact, purpose-built downhill trail focused on speed, berms, flow and progressive jumping. It offers a controlled environment for developing downhill skills while still providing enough speed and airtime to keep experienced riders coming back for another lap.
