Starts off as a wide, well-surfaced forest road. Climbs steadily with little respite. About two thirds of the way up, this trail turns sharp left off the main forest road and becomes narrower, rougher and steeper.

 strathfinella Hill not accessible direct. needed to re route via lower drum xc then up ridge. lower parts ok and passable under trees.
