This trail's upper part above the Wood River is directional for mountain bikers in the north to south direction and is fast flowy single track with some slighty rocky parts. AKA, the west side of the trail is only North to South for mountain bikers. This HAS to be ridden counter clockwise. Popular area for hikers and dog walkers, so it can be busy at times. Often ridden as a combo with Chocolate Gulch.

Very fun loop with some challenging but short climbs.
bendorrigan
Nice views and easy access from town, but not the best trail. Short climb with a couple tricky switchbacks, followed by a traverse and then a short downhill with lots of tight, off-camber, and blind corners that make it pretty much impossible to open it up and let 'er buck. The tall grass growing really close to the trail also makes things pretty challenging, as it's often impossible to look far down the trail or see rocks that are just waiting to reach out and grab your pedals. More frustrating than fun.

I wish they'd consider making the final descent downhill AND bikes only. There are blind turns at the end, and I've encountered way too many hikers looking down at their feet, completely oblivious to their surroundings. Someone is going to get hurt. If it's considered too dangerous to have mountain bikers climb it, why is it okay for hikers???
