Gladiator Pass Trail connects the Galena Lodge trails to Grand Prize and the Pole Creek/East fork trails. It is steep, loose and has not seen trail maintenance in years. Great hike, somewhat brutal mountain bike experience. The saddle between Gladiator Peak and Cabin Peak is quite nice with long views.
The Grand Prize side of the trail is just as steep and loose but with more off camber exposure. Not for the inexperienced biker.
Like all of the singletrack trails at Galena, the Gladiator Pass Trail is open to two-way traffic and shared use by hikers, horseback riders, runners, and bicyclists. Watch for and yield to others - on this and all trails. All Galena singletrack trails are closed to E-Bikes.
Access from the Grinder or from Grand Prize trail.
The USFS has implemented the Big Wood Travel Plan which includes decommissioning many old mining roads in the area.
Service Road Atlas is a free to use, community-driven service for viewing and creating reports on the numerous back-country service roads around B.C. and Alberta.
