Grindstone Trail #624 is 3.6 miles long. It starts at Forest Road 9271A (Doce Pit Rd) and ends at Forest Road 47B. This trail was designed for motos, but also allows hikers, cyclists, and equestrians.
This trail is primarily used by motos. The trail has some tight areas that would make travel difficult and sketchy on an ATV or 50" SxS/UTV, especially the switchbacks near Spruce Canyon. The trail is rideable on a mountain bike, but travel is only recommended in the downhill direction unless you're on an e-bike. The trail has some steep stretches as well as some chunk. All things considered, the trail is a pretty enjoyable descent on a mountain bike from FR 47B and quite fun in either direction on a moto.
From Iron Springs Rd, take Doce Pit Rd southwest 2.9 miles. There isn't any parking at the start of the trail, but there is a pullout on the west side of Doce Pit Rd about 0.2 miles from the start of the trail near the entrance/exit of West Spruce Trail #264. If driving to the start of the trail from Iron Springs Rd, a vehicle with decent ground clearance is highly recommended (4WD is not necessary).
