Local Popularity5 in Skiing
There are plenty of different routes up and down Gunsight Butte in the Winter and this is one of them. This is the route up that starts at the typical skin track most folks use to summit the ridge. You'll likely cross your skin track on the way back down this slope. There are numerous glades formed by scree fields, dense tree skiing is to be had everywhere, and advanced route finding skills are a must. This is not a curated experience and is recommended for experienced back-country travelers only. Good communication skills are a must.
These are steep slopes and as always avalanches are a real danger. Again, this is just one path. There are many ways up and down this ridge, but it's nice to know this is here.
