      The Hackett Track is closed while a new route is being made. Due to reopen mid June but check DOC website.

      Several areas where the track has slipped away between the swing bridge and the turn off to whispering falls after the 2022 storm/floods. It was passable in Sept but on small foot holds on steep slips where the track used to be. Not for the faint hearted, and extra tricky with a bike.
