This 2-mile round trip hike begins right at the Summit Lake Recreation Area parking lot at the crest of Hatcher Pass. A beautiful climb that passes a lovely turquoise tarn called April Bowl and continues up the ridge to Hatch Peak at an elevation of 4,811 ft above sea level. Doing this trail in the late evening will minimize the foot traffic you have to slow down for. Hikers have right of way, be respectful of them.

Riding great. Go slow for hikers (most were polite and appreciative) so we don’t lose access to this fun trail.
