Connector trail from the parking lot to Dixie Mountain Loop. An easy to follow, wide trail with some height gain following in the direction indicated. It’ll get you nicely warmed up on the start of your hike. Some nice open views too as you go. Some roughness and looseness under foot. Best hiked October to April. It gets very very hot in the summer months and there is little or no shade. Remember plenty of water…. Fountain with filtered water in the parking lot.

Ampfrog
Probably the busiest trail with hikers accessing most other trails from this one. Keep it chill on the way down (also higher density of sharp nasty rock than most other trails in the area). On the way up, steep but manageable to Desert Tortoise; once past that, kicks up a bit steeper with some techy rock steps to get over. Will be breathing hard by the top.

Watch out going downhill on this trail! The last left handed corner is very easy to fly into the wash!
