A nice 4 mile loop in north Phoenix to enjoy the desert views and sunset/sunrise, without the crowds of Phx Mtn Preserve or Apache Trailhead. There is quite an uphill hike from Desert Vista trailhead to reach the loop and probably why it is not as popular, but if you can handle that, should be able to handle the entire loop. Pretty much either uphill or downhill the whole way, often over 10% grade; it is not an easy stroll, but worth the effort. Another popular option is to go from trailhead to Dixie Summit and back, sampling a small portion of this loop.
