Has to be one of the funnest flowy narrow downhills in the northeast. Little bit of Kingdom Trails right here in NH. Link it with Big Bear and you have a couple miles of superb riding.
It has three segments, Hemlock1, Hemlock2 and Hemlock3. Most riders ride west-to-east, so be particularly careful riding in the other direction.
The first half of H1 follows a bench cut into the side of the Bear Brook ravine. It can be ridden at speed, but the first armored drop and a couple of the turns can be deceptively tricky. This trail is very treacherous when icy.The second half climbs up from a stream crossing to the junction with H2.
H2 starts with a steep, rooty climb that transitions into a nice short, benched climb. The plateau was recently logged and the scrub vegetation features a few acres of wild blueberry bushes. The trail follows the rim of the ravine to a junction with H3.
H3 is a fun, fast, flowy trail that comes out to a doubletrack.
