Hobbit Loop leaves Ring Loop on an abandoned farm road through the woods, skirts Michigan Tech's student paintball arena and parking area, turns just before the cabled access drive to Pilgrim Road, edges along an old meadow, pops back into the woods, climbs a small ridge, and rejoins Ring Loop after passing the back side of the paintball arena.
