Erstmals gebaut 2022, danach musste der obere Abschnitt wegen eines "Wutbürgers" rückgebaut werden, 2024 wurde der obere Abschnitt teils wieder neu angelegt, 2025 dann offiziell eröffnet.
Welcome to one of Austria's most famous trails - but not because of its great design or its flow. But because of the absurdly bizarre historical developments - a prime example of how a few angry citizens can paralyze the interests of an entire city and even the landowners. This trail is a must-do in order to understand the strangely presumptuous situation surrounding mountain biking in Austria.
Hofwaldtrail starts near Höttinger Bild. It's a really fun and moderately difficult experience riding it. The trail has no real surprises or scary features. Berms and corners might be a bit tight, but definitely manageable.
Please do stay on the trail, slow down at crossings and be respectful to the occasional hikers

In the final section just before the exit, the worn and rutted line has been repaired. A drainage was built in the middle, including a small rollable feature. Everything is freshly built, the surface is still loose and very dry, so please ride with caution until it has time to settle.

Trail wurde nun oben abschnittsweise adaptiert und neu angelegt (sogar besser). Aufgrund der allgemeine Mountainbike-Wintersperre in der Region ist dieser allerdings noch bis 2025 gesperrt.
