I agree with most of the changes to the Grinder trail description. The other, more difficult Grinder trail I believe was called "Secret" trail by some. Likely because of the bigger, unsanctioned features that they were building there more than 10 years ago. As described, there are some larger gap jumps with sketchy run-ins, sniper landings, some with significant consequences. I have not been up there in a few years, but it was in very rough shape with the hard hits being made dangerous through disrepair. I think the main Grinder trail on the map deserves to be single black diamond because it is. Once someone uploads the GPS tracks for the "Secret" trail, then that trail should deservedly be be double or even trible black diamond. BTW, there's a great viewpoint from the top of "Secret" trail.

I was up there a couple of weeks ago and there was really only one jump in un-rideable condition. I also have always known the DH trail as 'Grinders' and this XC loop as 'Huge Ribbon' but I think its better that the real Grinders isn't on the map anyway.

Concur with keeping it off the map.
The VI Freak Maps book calls the XC loop Grinder. Maybe we could call the gnarly trail Grinders DH? Whatever.

Best to keep up some continuity with the map book then as it is really well done. Not too worried about what people call it as long as it stays loose and fun.

This trail is Huge Ribbon, I think it's named after Hugh.

The Grinder's full name is Captian Hindgrinder, it's named after a porn. I personally don't think it should be mapped as it's not legal (out of the MTB park) and could use a bit of work to be ready for the pampered masses.

Love this trail. Likely my favorite in the park gnarly ups and downs. Lots of rock features and tech climbs. Easy to link with hot cherry, and over to spacecraft and mother hucker for a great loop.

Spacecraft? Where is that? Do you mean Small Craft Warning?

I guess I found the dh trail by accident because I was having a blast only to realize I was way off the map. It was my first time riding this trail so I guess keep your eye on the map or you might get lost like I did. I had to get to a doctors appointment so I ended up cutting back through because I had no idea how far it would take me. Best trail at hartland imo.
