Jackpot Trail connects Britton Peak, near Tofte, to the Onion River Road. High Climber connects the Onion River Road to Lutsen Mountains. Together these trails form a long wilderness segment, offering a one-of-a-kind riding experience for users as it flows over and around ancient rock formations, past old growth cedar, under a dense maple canopy and through beautiful boreal forest.
The Jackpot section is slightly rougher and bumpier than the High Climber trail.

Access Info
The start of this trail is off the Skookum trail in the Britton Peak trail system (about three miles up the Sawbill Trail from Tofte). From the end of the trailhead nearest to the road, follow Crosscut, to Skookum and then onto Jackpot. Keep left at all splits and junctions. These are well signed too.

This trail is amazing! Well built and well maintained. The trail is wide and the scenery is the best part! The smell of flowers, cedar, and other trees was divine! I rode from Britton Peak Trailhead to “L” and back. It’s a slow climb there but a fun flow back and you are back to the trailhead before you know it. Hardly any bugs (in the middle of July) but I had on a good share of bug spray, which I would then recommend and pack the spray with you. Looking forward to doing more of the trail from “L” to Lutsen some day.

This is such a great trail. The amount of work that goes/went into making something like this (especially considering that there aren't roads near the vast majority of the trail) is amazing...goes for regular maintenance also (weeds, etc). I was explaining it to a friend and since he's familiar with the Cuyuna system I said it's like a Blue level, north shore version of Galloping Goose. Fun trail with plenty of climbing, big berms, perfect sized jumps for someone who isn't looking to launch huge stuff, perfect level of tech to challenge you but generally going to be clearable for most people riding this trail. All around it's a fun trail and I enjoyed each direction just as much as the other.
