City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks

Once home to the Joder Arabian Ranch, this property was sold to the City of Boulder in 2013. Public access is limited to a former ranch road that connects Highway 36 to Olde Stage Road and is favored by gravel riders who connect it to the roads and trails near Boulder Valley Ranch / Boulder Reservoir.

The eastern side of the property is open and sunny without any tree cover. Because of the steepness of the road, especially near the top, it can be prone to heavy erosion but is maintained and graded periodically.

The western side of this trail is "singletrack" in the sense that a car would likely be too wide. But, it is also painfully steep. This side is more in a Poderosa forest and offers some shade.

Trail trail serves as a connector between Boulder (via the Foothills Trail and the North Sky Trail that opened on July 22, 2024.
