Tight, rooty, technical switchbacks. Makes for a challenging climb and a slow-tech descent.

Rose John’s for the first time in maybe 5 years today. I don’t know why it’s been so long, this trail still rocks. I’m glad not all descents are this technical and slow, but I wish there were more trails like this. It’s like a puzzle that will have you grinning the entire time.

Starts off rocky and then lots of really tight sections between trees. Penalizes riders with wide handlebars. This is a trail that is an upper body workout, lots of upper body maneuvering to get through the trees. If you want an easy flow trail look elsewhere, this requires old school skills.

The pinnacle of techy trails! A lot of fun down! Built in the old school style way back when…..(trees and roots were to be saved and savored)

Super overgrown right now. Hard to see what’s around the next bush. I found myself pedaling almost the whole time because I couldn’t maintain any speed/momentum.

This is an awesome oldschool trail that reminds me of my PNW and EU days. Certainly unique for Park City. It is really narrow in spots and I think you need to like this particular style of trails to really enjoy it, but if you do, it is super fun.

This trail is a fun old school classic! I really hope nobody tries to “improve” it. It’s just as much fun up as it is down. And yes- I climb it with my Lefty all the time

All the angled tree roots, loamy soil and gracious shade reminded me more of North Van than Utah. Just missing the rainy slickness to cause your rear tire to wig out and topple you into the brush. Yeah its tight and knar in its own way, going back.

Good shaded hiking trail through dense aspen. Truly a character building mountain biking route. On the upper section the trail in lined by aspen with scars right at the height of handlebars, and it is constant. The trail is also paved with tree roots coming in at every angle. A hiker would not have to worry about high speed mountain bikers, the trail would tend to filter them out early.

Although this is listed as a blue on Trailforks, the park city mountain resort summer map has it as a black. I would rate it right on the edge of both. Not a black because of rocks, drops or steep descents. However, the low speed required to navigate the tight turns and the narrow tree clearance makes it a trail prone to an endo or two if you hit one of the many roots the wrong way.

This trail has so much potential, but I wish that the land owners would be willing to cut down just a couple aspens around the switchbacks time make it wide enough to ride at a decent pace. Definitely a trail designed before 780 mil bars were a thing, but everyone should ride it up or down at least once.

I wouldn’t ride it every day but you should experience it. Super unique technical trail through a gorgeous aspen grove. Lots of roots and tight handle bar shoves through the trees. Laughed a little, grunted some, but smiled the whole way.

Probably the most unique trail in the entire area. Twisty, rooty “gnar” without any major risk. I find this super fun.

This trail is an acquired taste. It’s a bear to climb up to the start and despite losing elevation you’ll feel like you’re climbing the whole time. You will almost certainly be forced to yield to a fifty year old man climbing the trail on a cannondale lefty. Very techy and extremely slow for most mortals.

100% not a blue trail. 1000% a very technical black diamond. You cannot gain any speed going down hill, there are TONS of roots on it where you can easily catch your pedals (as I did twice on this trail) I would avoid this trail of you can. Unless you want to try your hand at a very technical black diamond trail.
